HBO showrunner Doug Ellin confirmed our worst fears about Entourage dvd movie. They really are trying to make it. Producer Mark Wahlberg says he'll finance it himself if he has to and compared Entourage to The Hangover so he thinks it will do great at the box office. Wahlberg will have to do a lot of romantic comedies with Jennifer Aniston if he wants to pay for that mistake....
Molly Parker, best known for playing Alma Garret in HBO's Deadwood 1-3 dvd , is joining NBC's The Firm. She'll play Abby McDeere, the wife of central character Mitch McDeere (Josh Lucas), a lawyer who brought down a law firm that was a front for the mob. It's based on a book, but who has time to read anymore with all this Farmville to play? [NBC]
... At its TCA panel, Starz discussed the future of BBC-import Torchwood box set on its network. Turns out there are no plans to treat the show like a normal show. The sci-fi series won't be "an annual show," and could be renewed at any time or simply disappear. It's all up to show creator Russell T. Davies to come up with a good idea when he's ready. [EW]
... I'm not sure why this is such a big story, but HBO had to clarify that it isn't planning on canceling Game of Thrones season 1 any time soon. "We told [author George R.R. Martin] we'd go as long as he keeps writing," HBO co-president Richard Plepler said. So yes, the show that's turning into a phenomenon and was recently nominated for several Emmys isn't getting canceled. This also just in: water is wet! [EW]
